The 1st part of the discussion was devoted to reflections on how to become even greener and what actions companies are already taking to promote more sustainable thinking of citizens and companies. Inga Bite, public relations manager of “Rimi Latvia”, participated in the conversation.

“BluOr Bank” board member and sustainability manager Inga Preimane, AS “Aldaris” Communications manager Toms Kursītis and the chairman of the board of the Song Festival Society, conductor – Ints Teterovskis.

Inga Preimane drew attention to the responsibility of banks, evaluating to whom and for what purposes a loan is provided, because sustainability has become a very important topic in the banking sector as well.

“Rimi Latvia” representative Inga Bite informed what steps the retailer “Rimi” has taken to reduce the amount of waste, including the amount of food waste. Various promotions and recommendations for sustainable choices can be observed in “Rimi” stores.

“Mežpils alus” representative Toms Kursītis spoke about the great response and the intended continuation of the brand campaign “Make your city better”, as well as about the company’s own goals on the way to climate neutrality.

On the other hand, the conductor Ints Teterovskis invited to participate in a very unusual activity of this year at the end of the cleanup – a lung cleaning event, which will take place tomorrow at Mežaparka’s Great Stage from 15.00-18.00.

The second part of the green discussion was continued by Magnus Eriņš, of the program “How green? So green!” manager, Inga Bērziņa, Minister of Environmental Protection and Regional Development, Līga Abizāre, Head of Environmental Education of “Latvijas Valsts Mežu”, and Edvards Kušners, Head of the Sustainability Direction of the Bank of Latvia.

Magnus told about the experience of the program “How green? So green!” during its formation and concluded that Latvian society as a whole is going in the right direction. However, Līga Abizāre admitted that the waste problem has not subsided.

We would like to remind you that any potential cleaner who also wants to participate in this ambitious event can choose the closest or preferred cleaning place on the map of the Great Cleanup.
