In 2023, the Finnish Defense and Aerospace Industry Association and the Latvian Federation of Security and Defense Industries organized the first Finnish-Latvian Defense Industry Day in Helsinki, Finland. In order to continue getting to know the companies, products and development plans of the defense capabilities of both countries in conditions of rapid demand, this year the industry day will be held in Riga.
Representatives of the Ministries of Defense of Latvia and Finland and more than 70 industry entrepreneurs from both countries will take part in the event. As part of the event, it is planned to sign a bilateral memorandum of understanding between organizations representing the defense industry.
This year, the event is organized by including members of the DAIF Latvija Cooperation Network in the first Export Think Tank, which will introduce Finnish representatives to Latvian industry.
In the future, such think tanks will be held for the realization of national, EU and NATO level defense needs, and International Industry Days in Latvia and National Industry Days abroad will also be organized.
The event is supported by SIA “Patria Latvia” and is organized with the financial support of EU funds.
