“An act of terror intended as a gift to Putin for his inauguration [tā notika šodien, 7. maijā], actually became a failure of the Russian special services. But we must not forget – the enemy is strong and experienced, it should not be underestimated,” says SBU head Vasiļs Maļjuks.

Ukrainian security services have already reported that they managed to prevent several assassination attempts against Zelensky. Zelensky himself has said that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has tried more than ten times to organize Zelensky’s liquidation.

The SBU informs that the Russian special services developed a plan to eliminate Zelensky. Russian special services have recruited agents in Ukrainian services related to the presidential guard.

“The network, which was run by the FSB from Moscow, also included two UDO colonels who leaked classified information to Russia,” the SBU said in a statement.

Russia’s goal was to capture Zelensky or kill him. There was also a plan to destroy SBU head Malyuk, head of the Central Intelligence Agency Kirill Budanov and other high-ranking Ukrainian officials.

The plan to eliminate Budanov was supposed to be implemented before the Orthodox Easter. A Russian agent was tasked with tracking his movements; after that, it was planned to destroy the building where he was with a rocket. After a while, a drone and another missile were expected to strike this area.

Members of the plan have already received two FPV drones and charges to be used in the attack.

Several assassinations have also been organized against Budanov; last year his wife was hospitalized with severe poisoning.
