Firefighters and rescuers are busy today near Mazās Jugla, who have come to Salaspils parish for the third time to search the river. The search is ongoing in connection with the disappearance of 33-year-old Evelina Auce.
“The search for the missing person continues at the scene. The water area of the river is searched using wetsuits, the river is surveyed. It is possible that divers will also be used,” explains VUGD.
Evelina left her residence on Friday at 1.00 at night. Since that day, no one knows her whereabouts.
The police are also participating in the search with drones and checking forests and rivers.
Disappearance is quite puzzling. On the fateful night, Evelina was at home with her children. The children are only five and seven years old. Leaving her small, personal belongings, phone at home, the woman simply disappeared at night.
“The next day, her mom noticed that she was not at home. Called the police and started searching. She had not said or written anything to anyone,” says Evelina’s friend Liene.
Liene met Evelina two days before she disappeared. The woman was happy and invited her friend to visit Salenieki. The woman’s relatives are full of hope to find Evelina safe and sound, not allowing the idea that the search in the water will bring results. Fortunately, at the moment the Little Jugla river is very shallow. Information has been received that a woman similar to Evelina was seen in Latgale. So far, these versions have not been confirmed.
