Two high-risk fires were extinguished in Riga

In the past day, in the period from April 24 of this year at 6.30 a.m. to April 25 at At 6.30, the State Fire and Rescue Service (VUGD) received 44 calls – 12 for firefighting, 22 for rescue work, but 10 calls were false.

at At 10:51 p.m., a call was received to Akmeņu Street in Riga, where burnt food left unattended was burning in an apartment on the second floor of a six-story residential building 0.1 m² in area. Firefighters rescued one person from the smoky apartment, who was handed over to the Emergency Medical Service (EMS) medics. at At 23.31, the work at the scene ended.

at 19.49 VUGD received a call to Mazo Stacijas street in Riga, where a room 20 m was on fire in the apartment on the second floor of a five-story residential building² in area. Firefighters rescued one person from the second floor who was injured in the incident and was handed over to the EMS medics. Another person and a cat were rescued from the fifth floor using a rescue mask. Before the arrival of VUGD, five people evacuated from the building. at 21.10 this fire of increased danger has been eliminated.

at At 2:20 p.m., firefighters and rescuers went to Zemgale Street in Olaine, where a piece of paper was burning in the apartment on the first floor of a five-story residential building.² in area. 20 people were evacuated from the building. at At 3:15 p.m., the burning was extinguished and work on the incident was concluded.

at 14.17 received a call to Jaunciema 1. cross line in Riga, where the first floor of an unmanaged two-story building burned 80 m² in area, second floor cover 10 m² in area and roof 5 m² in area. Total burning area – 95 m². A firefighter was injured during the extinguishing work. at At 6:05 p.m., this high-danger fire was extinguished.

at 12.04 VUGD received a call to Riebiņi Parish of Preiļu County, where diesel fuel was leaking from the farm’s manifold into the river. Firefighters and rescuers set up absorbent pads at the scene. Employees of the State Environmental Service also worked at the event. at At 13.15, firefighters and rescuers finished the work.

In the past 24 hours, firefighters rushed to calls where a guest house and the outer wall and roof of adjacent buildings were on fire, soot in the chimneys of four buildings, a mezzanine cover, a truck trailer, cars, unattended burnt food and in three cases garbage.
