At 13.00, the opening of the exhibition “Mysteries of God’s Garden” will take place in the administration building of the museum reserve. Elmārs Gaigalnieks, the long-term cooperation partner of the Turaida Museum Reserve, has gathered a group of like-minded artists who have called their association the “Turaida Artists’ Union”, namely Dace Saulīte, Daiga Kļaviņa, Daina Klints, Dzintra Ozolniece, Elīna Tolpežnikova, Elmārs Gaigalnieks, Jānis Purcens, Līga Skadiņa Spila, Modris Balodis, Nauris Dainis. The joy of creation radiates from the works of the members of this informal group and unites in a common message that brings the viewer into a new world and takes the imagination far. The exhibition will be on display until June 16.

At 15.00, all interested parties will have the opportunity to meet representatives of the beekeeping cooperative society “Siguldas medus”. This year, several beehives will be located in the territory of the Turaida Museum Reserve, which will house bee colonies. In parallel with the creation of high-quality beekeeping products, the representatives of the cooperative are actively engaged in public education related to bees, honey and its products, pollinators, nectar plants, natural meadows, etc. Both on the opening day of the season and throughout the season, it will be possible to meet, talk and exchange ideas with professional beekeepers. You will be able to find out what to do if you meet bees on your way, how to ensure high quality of beekeeping products and many other issues related to promoting the development of the beekeeping industry and honey tourism. The tasting of various honeys will also not be missed.

Throughout the day, visitors are invited to the new exhibition “Black and white time”, which tells about the parishes of Turaida, Krimulda and Ledurga during the Soviet occupation. The exhibition can be viewed in the Turaida church and will be available to interested parties until October 30.

A new offer has also been prepared for families with children. Several interactive stands and information points have been created in the Turaida Palace expositions, where children will be welcomed and encouraged to act by Dāvids of the Turaida Palace. For the first time, the general public was introduced to Dāvid with the help of the book “Turaida Castle Dāvid’s Story and Game Book”. This year, David will meet the children in the Western part of the castle, where it will be possible to explore ancient vessels, find out what the Crusades are, or trace David’s adventures in Swedish times.
