The team led by Nizhivija wins the game of Latvian hockey legends / Diena

The red team beat the white team led by captain Rodrigo Lavinas by 8:7 (3:3, 4:4, 1:0).

Alekseis Shirokovs scored three (2+1) performance points for the winners during the game, while Nizhivijs, Mārtiņš Karsums, Herbert Vasiļjevs, Normunds Sējės and Māris Jass scored one goal each, while Niživijs scored two after-game shots, Vasiļjevs and Karsums scored one goal each.

In Laviņš’s team, Lauris Dārziņš collected five (1+4) productivity points, three (1+2) points for Armandas Bērziņš, Guntis Galviņš scored two goals, and one each – Vitalijs Pavlovs, Artis Ābols and Rodrigo Laviņš.

Galviņš, Įrts Ankipāns and Ābols made the after-play shots, but Dārziņas’ attempt to beat Edgars Lūsiņas was unsuccessful.

Edgars Masalskis kept the goal in the Lavinas team.

The LHF reports that 4,832 spectators attended the game.

Both team captains have played the most games in the Latvian national team. Lavins has accumulated 226 games, and Nizhivijs – 222 games.

At the beginning of April, the captains of both teams – Lavins and Nizhivijs – took part in a special draft ceremony, choosing the players of their team.

Masalskis, Dārziņš, Olegs Sorokins, Gints Meija, Andrejs Ignatovičs, Galviņš, Pavlovs, Krišjānis Rēdlihs, Ankipāns, Ābol, Maksims Širokovs, Agris Saviels, Artūrs Kulda, Bērziņš and Jānis Anderson played in the Lavinas team.

Lūsiņš, Vasiļjevs, Karsums, Sējējs, Juris Opulskis, Atvars Tribuntsovs, Koba Jass, Širokovs, Vladimirs Mamonovs, Aleksandrs Yerofejevs, Georgijs Pujacs, Jēkabs Rēdlichs and M.Jass played in the Nizhivija unit.
