--

This time, the police used both water cannons and tear and pepper gas against the protesters. This did not stop people from expressing their opinion.

“What is happening now is that we hear from protesters, activists, young people, and not only young people, not only the slogan “no to the Russian law”, but a logical conclusion – no to the Russian regime. And this is the end of this regime,” says Gia Bokeri, leader of the European Georgian Party.

Unlike last year, when the consideration of this bill was postponed after protests, this time the ruling party “Georgia Dream” does not listen to the protesters and on Wednesday took a step closer to the adoption of the bill by supporting it in the second reading. In order for the law to enter into force, it still has to be examined in the third, final reading.
