Madars Daushkans became the lucky winner of the competition organized by Travelnews.lv and the tour operator “Travel Art LV”, winning the prize – a trip to the world hockey championship. Together with other fans, he will be able to support the Latvian national team in the matches against Kazakhstan and Germany.
“Once, a few days before the competition, one of my friends asked me if I would go to the championship this year, I said – maybe I will go to a game,” Madars reveals in a conversation with Travelnews.lv. And once you noticed that there is such a competition!

“I said to myself: Madar, you’re unlikely to win, but if you don’t participate, you definitely won’t win!” states the lucky winner. He has already been a follower of both Travelnews.lv and “Travel Art” on the “Facebook” network for several years, since it was very easy to qualify.
Daushkans is a passionate hockey fan, he has supported the national team in person for at least one game for 12 years, starting from 2001, when the tournament took place in the German city of Cologne, and he was also at the only game in 2021 in the pandemic-stricken Riga, when the spectators were allowed to watch only the last game.
