The first disc golf competition for the residents of Bauska region was held. This time it was the “Codes Parish Cup disc golf” competition organized by Codes parish sports organizer Jānis Rotbergs.

In total, 19 participants took part in the competition – 13 men and six women. Everyone played two rounds – at first dividing into groups by draw and in the second round – according to the results of the first round. “April 21 of this year will go down in the sports history books of the Bauska region with the fact that the first disc golf competition was held among residents of the Bauska region without previous experience in this sport,” says Jānis Rotbergs, the organizer of the competition.

Before the competition, under the leadership of J. Rotberg, the participants walked the course and familiarized themselves with the rules of disc golf, at the same time getting acquainted with the course configuration. After the first round, the participants were also treated to a treat to recover their strength. It should be noted that in the second round many had an improved result, including by ten points.

For both ladies and gentlemen, the fight for the victory took place until the last basket. For the ladies, Monta Tiruma won with +82 points, Kristīne Maceviča was second with +83 points and Zane Dankbare was in third place with +87 points.

The men’s game went faster – there even the weakest results were in the range of +50, +60 points. However, here too the battle for the first place was until the last basket, although it was decided sooner. Gatis Feldmanis won the third place with +32 points, while Jānis Rotbergs and Ansis Pavilons played point by point for a long time, raising the intrigue until the end. Everything was decided on the penultimate, 17th hole, which is the most difficult, the longest and also the trickiest on the course, where many lost more points than anywhere else. A. Pavilon was the most successful here, who was able to finish the last, 18th basket beautifully and won the victory with +22 points. Second J. Rotberg with +23 points.
