Tesla Megapack electricity storage batteries have been selected to implement an impressive 1.3GWh capacity system in Australia. It will be the largest such solution on the continent to date.
The new order and solution is the second phase of the Collie Battery project located in South Australia. Also in the first round, the Tesla Megapack solution was used, which is realized and installed by the company Neon. It consists of 224 Megapack 2XL units, reaching a capacity of 877MWh.

Meanwhile, in the second round, 348 Megapack 2XL units will be used, the total capacity of which will reach 1363MWh. This will make this solution the largest to date in Australia and one of the largest in the world. It is expected that it will start its operation at the end of 2025 and will be able to provide the region with 20% of electricity consumption.
This is not the biggest Tesla Megapack solution, as an order was received at the end of last year to build a battery system outside of Melbourne, the capacity of which will reach 1.6GWh. In any case, Tesla has successfully established itself in this business of accumulating electricity, which in these times of great competition allows the company to move forward.
