The Main Intelligence Agency of Ukraine (GUR) has reported that the Special Tasks Unit has managed to destroy a rare “REPEJNIK” radar device of the Russian Armed Forces, explains NBS Major, National Guard Staff Officer Jānis Slaidiņš in the TV24 program “Actual about the war in Ukraine”.

The slide says that this is the second case when the Ukrainian army has succeeded in this. The first was destroyed last year by Ukrainian artillery. “It seems that the occupiers do not have many of them, but the main task of the device is to determine the location of the drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” says Slaidins, adding that its price is 100,000 US dollars.

“This equipment is new in the Russian arsenal, since 2022. The radar sees drones at a distance of 15 kilometers, up to 5 kilometers high, and can simultaneously track up to 256 targets. The radar equipment connects to electronic warfare equipment, it’s a pretty good deal,” the specification explains A slide.

Major does not deny that the Russians have invested heavily in electronic warfare equipment and various radars over the last ten years.
