Mr. Dunlop gradually found out where the animal lived and began to treat the fox by feeding it bread to which he added a homeopathic remedy.
Their heartwarming friendship blossomed when the young fox began to greet Mr. Dunlop on his daily walks through the woods.
Although this friendship is important to Mr. Dunlop, he is aware that the fox needs to return to its normal environment, so he is slowly reducing the number of visits and feedings to the fox.
In the videos taken by Mr Dunlop, the young fox, affectionately called Mrs Fox, can be seen rolling around on the ground and lovingly biting Mr Dunlop’s pants to get his attention. The fox also tends to greet Mr. Dunlop when he approaches with a squeal of delight.
The man noticed the sick fox for the first time in December last year. He wanted to help it, so he sought advice from the National Fox Welfare Society, who sent Mr Dunlop a homeopathic remedy for the fox.
Mr Dunlop, who lives with his wife Sue, visits the fox almost every day to monitor her progress.
“The day I put the food down for the first time and she showed her belly, it was just amazing,” he recalls.
“I know at some point I’m going to have to stop and let her live. I think she was just a lonely animal who was sick and has now recovered and is showing her appreciation,” adds Mr Dunlop.
