Martins Fehervári, defender of the National Hockey League (NHL) club Washington Capitals, will join the Slovakian hockey team at the upcoming world championship. https://twitter.com/miro81s/status/1785789983116193930 the general manager of the national team, Miroslav Shatans.
The 24-year-old Fehervári played 66 games in the main NHL tournament this season, scoring 16 (3+13) points and a negative efficiency coefficient of -7. Meanwhile, in four “play-off” duels, he has one goal and two assists, as well as a neutral efficiency ratio.
At the same time, it was announced that the Tampa Bay Lightning defender Eric Cerniak will not be in the ranks of the Slovak national team at this World Cup. It has become clear that, in addition to Fehervári, the Slovakian team will include five more NHL hockey players – Tomas Tatars (Seattle Kraken), Juraj Slafkovskis (Montreal Canadiens), Shimons Nemets (New Jersey Devils), Martin Pospišil (Calgary Flames) and Pavol Regenda (Anaheim Ducks).
In the World Championship, Slovakia will play in Group B with Latvia, USA, Germany, Sweden, France, Kazakhstan and Poland.
Sweden continues to strengthen its defense – the defending champion “Lightning” will also play in the WC
