Saulkrasti Choir “Anima” releases the song and video story “Rise, sun, early in the morning!”

--

The song was written especially for the Saulkrasti Choir “Anima” and soloists Laura Leontjeva and Elīna Ose, whose improvisational manner lives out the main motive of the song from a muted prayer to a scream of the soul. The composer dressed the words of the folk song in a sonically wide and musically Latvian natural landscape, which strives for light, hope and consolation.

The video of the song features actress Madara Botman, whose performance depicts a harsh and heartbreaking story of a woman about reaching the seemingly lowest point in her life, after which she chooses to get up, go, endure, pray, break free and become healed.

“I realized how wide Madara’s world of feelings and talent is when I filmed this video in not the most favorable weather conditions, but it was exactly what was needed to experience a real outburst of emotions,”

Laura Leontieva, director of the video story, reveals.

The music video operator and editing director is Ritvars Bluka, with whom Saulkrasti Choir has developed a close cooperation. On the other hand, the instrumental group participated in the recording of the song together with the choir and soloists: Kristaps Krievkalns (keyboards), Kristjāns Krievkalns (electronics), Andis Klučnieks (flute), Miķelis Vīte (percussion instruments). Sound processing was done by Armands Treilihs.
