It was the first international flight for the children of pilot Yaroslav Vladimirovich Kudrinsky. Kudrinskis let his children into the cockpit and allowed both his son and daughter to sit in the pilot’s seat.

When the 15-year-old Eldar sat in the pilot’s seat, he moved the control panel of the plane, and after a while the boy noticed that the plane was flying quite fast to the right.

The pilots did not notice the warning signal that would have signaled to them what had happened to the autopilot.

After a while, the pilots tried to regain control of the plane.

Although the pilots managed to level the plane’s wings, they had lost too much altitude by then and crashed.

During the investigation of the crash, the last words of the pilot recorded in the “black box” were discovered. It said that in the final moments of the flight, Kudrinsky yelled at his son to get away from the plane’s controls.

He said, “Eldar, go away. Go to the back, go to the back, Eldar! You see the danger, don’t you?”

“Go away, go away, Eldar! Go away, go away. I tell you, go away!”

Just two minutes and six seconds after the incident, flight 593 crashed in the Kuznetsk Alatau mountain range in southern Russia.

The investigation also found that the pilot training program did not include ways to deal with such situations.
