The Chinese automotive company Xpeng has started selling the electric SUV Coupe G6 on the European market. It’s four countries to begin with, but a sequel will follow.

The Xpeng G6 can already be ordered in Norway, Denmark, Sweden and the Netherlands, with the UK, Germany and France joining these countries already this year.

Xpeng is a start-up company founded in 2014 with rapid development, due to which it is called the “Chinese Tesla”, in addition, the G6 model is designed as a direct competitor to the Tesla Model Y. Despite the highly recognized sales figures, Xpeng cannot really compete with Tesla, at least in the domestic market does not happen, so the Chinese will try in Europe.

The 4.75 m long G6 is a crossover with a coupé body, which the manufacturer plans to offer in three versions in Europe. The entry-level crossover is expected to have a single 190 kW (254 hp) motor driving the rear wheels and a 66 kWh LFP battery that provides up to 435 km of range after the WLTP cycle.

The second variant of the G6 is also equipped with an electric motor that attaches to the rear axle. In this case, it develops 210 kW (282 hp), but long-range operation up to 570 km (WLTP) is provided by an 87.5 kWh NMC battery.

The most powerful G6 version receives two e-motors with a total power of 350 kW (469 hp) and the same 87.5 kWh battery, which promises an autonomy of up to 550 km (WLTP).

It is known that the prices of Xpeg G6 vary quite a lot in different European markets. For example, in Norway, its price starts at 35,000 euros, while in Sweden, at least 45,600 euros are required. Information currently available indicates that Tesla Model Y prices are similar in these markets.
