A patient committed suicide in the Northern Kurzeme Regional Hospital, hospital representative Linda Rudzroga informed the LETA agency.
The dead patient was found on the morning of May 6, when the nurse of the hospital left in the morning. The State Police was informed about the incident.
The patient has been treated in the hospital for a long time, the treatment process has been successful, the patient has cooperated with the staff. The medical staff has confirmed that there were no signs that the patient had suicidal tendencies or other behavior that could indicate such a decision was made.
The police have inspected the site and will investigate the circumstances related to the emergency at the hospital. The responsible specialists of the hospital are also continuing to clarify the circumstances. Psychological support will also be provided to employees, notes Rudzroga.
The state police confirmed to the LETA agency that a person without vital signs was found in the hospital and the police are currently explaining the circumstances.
