Police intervened when around 60 students gathered for a demonstration at the Paris Institute of Political Science (“Sciences Po”) on Wednesday evening.

“After discussions with the management, most of them agreed to leave,” university officials said, adding that the protest had heightened tensions at the university.

But a small group of students refused to leave and it was decided that police would disperse the protesters, university officials said. The school regretted that attempts to get the students to leave the premises peacefully have not been successful.

The protesters demanded that the Paris Institute of Political Science “sever ties with universities and companies complicit in the Gaza genocide” and “end the suppression of pro-Palestinian views on campus.”

Israel launched a war against the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas in the Gaza Strip after the terrorists carried out a massacre in Israel on October 7, killing 1,200 people and taking 250 hostages.

Protests against the war in the Gaza Strip are also spreading at several elite universities in the United States, and the police have detained dozens of students.
