The German air cargo carrier “Lufthansa Cargo” started regular cargo flights to Riga Airport on May 4. Riga is the first in the Baltics with which “Lufthansa Cargo” creates a regular direct cargo connection, informs Ilze Salna, the airport’s communication project manager.

“We are pleased to be able to offer new air cargo transportation capacity in the Baltic region. Riga is an important logistics center, especially for the IT and health industries, but our capacities will also be useful for other industries that require fast air transportation. The new connection will be important for the entire region, as we see that the aviation cargo segment of Riga Airport is developing,” said Hennings Oldendorf, head of sales for the Nordic and Baltic region of Lufthansa Cargo.
