Design service Canva has announced a “multi-million dollar” deal to acquire software developer Serif and its suite of creative, professional apps, Affinity, which includes programs such as Photo, Designer and Publisher. “. Industry professionals know them as a great alternative to the Adobe Creative Cloud suite. This means that Canva will face even more serious competition from Adobe with this deal.

Affinity’s suite of design apps is currently used by more than three million users worldwide. The apps are available for multiple platforms including macOS and iPadOS and have won numerous industry awards such as the Apple Design Award.
