A hangover bus will start running on the streets of Riga as part of certain events, which is intended as first aid for those who are not feeling well after the party in the morning. Apollo.lv contacted the authors of the idea to learn more about this service.

The representative of the organizing team, Rolands Kursītis, explains that it will be possible to receive medical help on the bus: “Professional doctors who are not attached to a specific medical institution will be brought in. If necessary, doctors will be able to provide help and apply to the system (intravenous infusion). A person who is not feeling well, will be under medical supervision. There will also be a chance to drink and sleep.”

The idea of a hangover bus came from the team of event organizers to ease the hard morning of partygoers.

“We just realized that after too much partying, you might be a little sick in the morning. We started joking about how great it would be to have a service that comes to your house and gets you sorted so you can function instead of trying to survive, ” say the organizers.

The Hangover Bus will be a paid service that will operate on call.

In case of excessive alcohol consumption, Latvian medical institutions have a special service for such cases – alcohol detoxification or alcohol withdrawal syndrome treatment. The fee for such a service starts from 50 euros and can exceed the limit of 100 euros.

We asked how much the hangover bus service would cost. Kursiti does not name the exact number, but states: “The prices will be friendly. Since this service will be available for the time being only to the visitors of the Mona Lisa event, the prices will be friendly. We are not putting them out yet.”
