In Latvia this April, 253,367 unique IP addresses exposed to cyberspace threats were registered, which is 10.5% more than in April 2023, according to the statistics of registered cyberspace incidents published by the information technology security incident prevention institution “Cert.lv”.

Among them, configuration gaps were most often registered for unique IP addresses in April – 54,255 cases, while 5,028 cases were registered as malicious codes.

At the same time, 799 incidents were registered as intrusion attempts, while 247 cases were registered as fraud, 170 cases were service availability disturbances, 74 incidents were registered as information gathering, 27 cases were compromised equipment, 15 cases were registered as information security violations, and six cases were registered as harmful content. .

Last April, 229,339 compromised unique IP addresses were registered in Latvia.

“Cert.lv” is a structural unit of the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics of the University of Latvia, whose tasks are to maintain a unified representation of the activities taking place in the electronic information space, to provide support in the prevention of information technology security incidents or to coordinate their prevention in Latvian IP address areas and the “.lv” domain name area.
