European exam May 7, 8, 9 is one of the most ambitious traditions of Europe Day for 10 years now. Last year a record was reached – in the European exam more than 42,000 participants participated. This year’s membership in the European exam is particularly significant, as we are celebrating Latvia’s 20th anniversary in the European Union. Just as our benefits from Latvia’s membership in the European Union are diverse, too European exam the questions are varied – sports, culture, nature, inventions, important events, personalities, etc. topics are included in the online test, applying them to different age groups.
The opportunity to learn something new, test existing knowledge, spend time knowingly and meaningfully, challenge yourself, set an example for others, are just a few European exam the reasons mentioned by the participants, which every year create the desire to participate and also feel the spirit of the competition. And why not – each participant receives a certificate with the number of points obtained, the best – prizes.
European exam takes place on May 7, 8, 9 online at www.esmaja.lv, everyone can attend at their own time. To help prepare for the European exam and improve understanding of the importance of Europe Day, on May 9 online at 9.00 will take place The Great European Hour. In the great hour of Europe the answer to the question “Why do we celebrate Europe Day?” will be given, as well as the most important things about the goals, activities, values, opportunities of the establishment of the European Union (EU), and Latvia in the European Union. The Great European Hour is suitable for both small and large Europeans. It will be opened with a new tradition – Handshake for Europe. We invite everyone to shake the hand of colleagues, friends, people they meet by chance, as a sign of respect and cooperation. The Great European Hour will be broadcast on Europe Day, May 9, from pl. 9.00 a.m. to pl. 9:40 a.m. online on the DELFI portal, www.esmaja.lv, on the Facebook sites of the European Commission’s representative offices in Latvia and the European Union’s website.
