At the beginning of last week, the Daugavpils municipal police duty station received information that garbage was thrown on the road in the forest area of the city. The nearest mobile patrol group of the municipal police was assigned to the indicated address, which, upon surveying the territory, found a violation.
When explaining the circumstances of the incident, the municipal police officers managed to promptly find out the possible involved persons and the guilty person was found in a short period of time. The guilty person admitted what he had done, took responsibility for his actions and picked up the previously thrown garbage. The municipal police officials accepted the guilty person’s explanation and also started the process of administrative violation.
The materials of the violation case were sent to the Administrative Commission of the municipality of Daugavpils for consideration and decision making.
In accordance with Article 43, Part 1 of the Law on Waste Management, for the non-participation of the household waste generator or owner in the management of household waste organized by the municipality, a warning or a fine is applied to the natural person from ten to one hundred and fifty fine units (50 – 750 euros), and to the legal person – from fifty to three hundred fine units (250 – 1500 euros).
