The M4 CS will be available to order at the end of May, with production starting in July.
The German automobile company BMW is preparing to add to its model range with the distinctly sporty M4 CS, which will sit between the M4 Competition M xDrive and the M4 CSL. In the engine compartment of the new model, there is a three-liter gasoline twinturbo engine borrowed from the M4 CSL, which develops 550 hp and 650 Nm, working in combination with an eight-speed M Steptronic automatic transmission and M xDrive all-wheel drive with an active rear differential.
The M4 CS is 20 kilograms lighter than the approximately €50,000 cheaper all-wheel drive M4 Competition, and has a carbon fiber roof and hood, as well as a titanium exhaust system (4 kg lighter). The mirror housings, diffuser and spoiler are also made of the same material. Visually, the M4 CS is easily distinguished by the yellow segments in the headlights and the red frame surrounding the radiator grille. The set also includes specially designed wheel rims in gold or black with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 Semislicks tires.
The M4 CS reaches 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds: 0.1 seconds faster than the M4 Competition Coupe M xDrive and 0.3 seconds faster than the M4 CSL, while it reaches 200 km/h in 11.1 seconds. The maximum speed of the new model is 302 km/h.
Unlike the M4 CSL, which has only two seats, the CS is a full-fledged everyday car with all four seats, although the front ones are cup-shaped – with “scarves” made of carbon fiber. The seats are ventilated and heated, decorated with an illuminated inscription of the model name. The 12.3-inch gauges and 14.9-inch multimedia screen are identical to the standard M4, but the Track and M-Drive-Professional driving modes with Drift-Analyzer and Laptimer functions are only for this model. To this should be added the modified traction control with a choice in 10 steps.
The company will start accepting orders for the BMW M4 CSL in May, and production will begin in July. In Germany, the price of the sporty BMW will start at 160,000 euros.
