In 2023, thanks to the implementation of the artificial intelligence energy-saving solution “R8 Digital Operator”, the multifunctional shopping center “Origo” reduced the costs of energy resources by 380,000 euros. At the same time, it also made it possible to reduce the ecological footprint of the t/c “Origo”, reducing the volume of CO2 carbon emissions by 29% or 1200 tons, compared to the indicators a year ago.

The implementation of sustainable core activities is an essential part of t/c “Origo”‘s sustainable development strategy, which includes a series of measures to promote the efficiency of environmentally friendly operational processes and reduce the impact on the surrounding environment.

“According data clearly shows that with the introduction of modern artificial intelligence technologies, we are purposefully moving towards significant energy efficiency. For the second year in a row, in cooperation with “R8 Technologies”, we have significantly reduced the consumption of energy resources and the costs of bills, which is a confirmation that modern modern technologies help not only to optimize expenses, but also to achieve the company’s sustainability goals. Thanks to these innovative solutions, the t/c “Origo” also serves as a vivid example of the development and integration of a modern object into the urban environment, creating a comfortable and friendly environment for our visitors and the residents of the nearby area,” says Juris Lipskis, technical director of SIA “Linstow Baltic”.

The “R8 Digital Operator” artificial intelligence solution was introduced in t/c “Origo” and the business center “Origo One” in May 2022, so that, in accordance with the sustainable development strategy of t/c “Origo”, it would be possible to use energy resources more efficiently and reduce consumption.

The implemented artificial intelligence solution automatically performs monitoring and automatic regulation of heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, providing regulation of indoor microclimate systems to independently maintain comfortable environmental conditions. In 2023, thanks to artificial intelligence technology, t/c “Origo” has succeeded in reducing electricity consumption by 25% and heat consumption in the premises of the shopping center by 40%.

“We are proud to support t/c Origo’s sustainability initiatives and be part of the trade’s contribution to the future of our planet. These results show that together we can make a significant impact and promote environmental sustainability. Without a doubt, an artificial intelligence solution is a powerful tool to improve the performance of buildings. At the same time, it would not have been possible without the technical team of t/c Origo, which has shown incredible support in adapting a data-driven artificial intelligence solution in daily operations and using its capabilities to further expand sustainability opportunities,” says SiimTäkker. , co-founder and CEO of R8 Technologies.

The development strategy of T/c “Origo” envisages the implementation of various initiatives aimed at achieving global sustainability goals and the creation of environmental accessibility conditions and a comfortable environment for employees and visitors.

In 2021, t/c “Origo” received the BREEAM certificate with the highest rating among all shopping centers in the Baltic States, while the extended building of “Origo” and the business center “Origo One” were recognized as the most sustainable building in Latvia.

On the other hand, in 2023, t/c “Origo” implemented the creation of a solar energy panel park on the roof of the t/c “Origo” building, which was a logical continuation of its sustainable development plan. The total capacity of the solar energy panel park is 410kW. It is planned that around 360 MWh of renewable solar energy will be produced during the year, providing about 4.5% of the total electricity consumption of t/c “Origo” in 2022.
