Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan also spoke about the situation in Gaza.

“Our top priority is to stop the bloodshed and killings in Gaza, and to ensure a long-term ceasefire and peace in the region,” Erdogan said. “We need to put more pressure on the Israeli government to ensure a cease-fire in Gaza and to deliver humanitarian aid to the population without interruption.”

Rutte is currently the leading candidate for the post of the next NATO Secretary General, and Turkey has so far not agreed to support his candidacy.

During the meeting, Erdogan openly stated that he first wanted the support of the Netherlands for negotiations with the European Union on customs union issues. Rute, on the other hand, obviously tried to publicly indulge Erdogan.

“Turkey is currently playing an important role in trying to help resolve the situation in Gaza, the Middle East, and also around the terrible war in Ukraine. You are really playing an important role in trying to resolve these conflicts,” Rute said. “Turkey is a geopolitical player and has a lot of influence.”

It is also reported that

On Friday, the delivery of humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza from Cyprus by special ships resumed.

Earlier, such aid was stopped when the Israeli army killed seven non-governmental organization workers who were engaged in the delivery of food.

On the other hand, UN spokesman Stefans Dužarits confirmed to journalists that the UN investigation into the possible connection of 19 Palestinian refugee agency employees to the attacks by “Hamas” on October 7 concluded that the investigation has been terminated in one case and suspended in four others due to lack of evidence. Notably, Israel has failed to provide evidence for its previous claims.
