Both existing beekeepers and those who want to start directly practicing organic beekeeping will be able to acquire the necessary knowledge remotely in the training program “Beekeeping in biological agriculture” created by the Latvian Rural Consulting and Education Center (LLKC).

The 40 qualification hours to be learned in the study program will be available on the LLKC Distance Learning platform from May 7 www.talmaciba.llkc.lv.
Ivars Geiba, head of the LLKC Krāslava office, beekeeper, lecturer in training: “We have received many customers’ questions about whether and when training will be available directly for beekeepers who want to beekeepers organically. That’s why we developed this program, which will help anyone interested in an understandable way to find out exactly what needs to be done to become an organic beekeeper.”
Within the framework of the program, it will be possible to gain knowledge about the certification procedure, regulatory acts and regulatory legislation, practical methods of beekeeping, nectar plant cultivation and other related topics that are important when starting organic farming in beekeeping.

Professional industry specialists with many years of practical experience in beekeeping participated in the preparation of the course – the Latvian Beekeeping Society, the “Environmental Quality” certification institution, LLKC specialists.
Upon completion of the training course, an electronic certificate of completion of the training program is issued, which corresponds to Agro-environments event qualification hours: LA10.4. “Management of beekeeping units for pollination” and LA11. “Organic agriculture (40 h for experts)”.
