The “Augšup” program is implemented for the third time by “SEB banka” together with the counties of Ķekava, Mārupe, Olaine, Ropaž, Sigulda and Jelgava. Projects could be submitted this year until April 30. Currently, the applications are evaluated by the jury committee, which consists of business professionals, as well as representatives of social entrepreneurship and local governments. The jury will announce this year’s winners in June, the organizers informed.

Applications received this year include, for example, a project to create a STEAM (educational approach focusing on digital skills and creativity) workshop for schools; a plan to create a rehabilitation and recreation place for seniors; a project on promoting the acquisition of self-help skills for oncology patients, which envisages creating educational videos and online trainings to strengthen people’s psycho-emotional health; a project that envisages creating special clothing for people with mobility impairments; an idea to improve the system for finding missing persons more effectively; a project on a socialization program to curb mobbing and a number of other valuable initiatives.

The grant program “Up” promotes and supports the implementation of meaningful business ideas important to various groups of society. Both already operating companies and authors of yet-to-be-implemented social business ideas can apply for financial support in the program.
