At the end of last week, Alice from Liepāja shared a heartfelt message of gratitude on her Facebook profile to a driver of the Liepāja bus park, who treated her and other passengers with kindness and understanding.
Alice writes that she and her son drove from Talsi to Liepāja. Due to health problems, my son gets nauseous during bus crossings, so I always hope that the driver will allow me to sit in the front.
“The driver asks me if there will be a place to sit. To which I answer “already”. This person got out of his chair to make sure we would have a place to sit with our son,” writes Alice.
“The driver vacated two places for us, from which he took out his belongings and more… People next to him even offered to take them home,” said Alice.
When they got to their seats, the driver told all the bus passengers to fasten their seat belts. He himself also thoroughly checked whether everyone obeyed, without even starting to drive faster.
Next, the bus stopped in Kuldīga, where a 10-year-old boy got on the bus: “Two tickets, one guy, but he’s scared. The driver asks the guy what happened. To which he replies that he is waiting for his brother and that there are tickets for both of them. The driver kindly tells the boy that we will definitely welcome his brother, so that he can safely go to his place and fasten his seatbelt.”
“A moment passed, a guy with red cheeks also came running – it warms the heart. How many drivers are sometimes inadequate towards the smallest ones. But this one – hats off!”
