As reported by the municipality of Tukuma Region:

“A fire broke out on Lielaja Street, in the territory of the work clothing manufacturing company “Sakta”. When the warehouse is burning, a distinct smell can be felt in the city, so we ask residents not to open their windows.

The section of the Great Street is currently closed. Please use Rovolūcijas and Atletė streets for detours.

Public transport will run along Strělnieku Street in the morning, the nearest alighting stop is at the Tukuma Polyclinic.”

The State Fire and Rescue Service, on the other hand, informs:

“This morning at 05.45 VUGD received a call to Lielo iela in Tukuma, where a fire had broken out in a hangar-type production building. Arriving at the scene, firefighters and rescuers found that the building, which had two-story administrative rooms at one end, and production facilities at the other end, was already burning with an open flame in the entire area. at 08.38 firefighters and rescuers limited the spread of flames – the first floor of the building burned 785 m 2second floor 200 m2 and 15 m from the pallet placed at the building2 in area. The total burning area is 1000 m2 in area. A forklift and production blank material were burning inside the building. Firefighters saved the hangar, which was five meters away, from the flames. During the extinguishing work, a firefighter was injured and handed over to the Emergency Medical Service. At the moment, the work of extinguishing the fire and mixing the structures at the scene continues.”
