on May 25 at 18.00 Folk dance ensemble “Teiksma” and children’s dance group “Teiksmiņa” invite you to the big concert “Dejo lieli, dejo mazi” in the Ķīpsala hall. Artistic director of the concert – choreographer, manager of TDA “Teiksma” Jānis Ērglis.

The name of the concert “Dejo majeli, dejo mazi” was not chosen by chance. One of the basic values of “Teiksma” is the family, and this is confirmed by the fact that the big family of Teiksmas includes many families whose representatives dance in different age groups. The children of the participants, who started their dancing careers in the smallest group, have now grown up and continue to dance in the main group, as well as perform on the same stage with their parents. Heritability in dance is not only in the ranks of participants, but also in the ranks of choreographers and pedagogues. The children of the managers of “Teiksma” and “Teiksmiņa” have also grown up, who are themselves educators in the children’s collective. The concert will also feature their choreographies.

At the “Dejo lieli, dejo mazi” concert, the audience will be delighted by the well-known and beloved dances of choreographer Jānis Ārglis, as well as the performances of other choreographers. New dances that have been created in recent years and have gained recognition will also be shown, including the laureates of this year’s Jaunrades dance competitions. Choreographers Dāvis Ārglis, Berta Pulmane and others will give their new dances to the audience for the first time at the big concert.

The youngest artists of the children’s dance ensemble “Teiksmiņa”, the youth of “Teiksma” studios and TDA “Teiksma”, dancers of the middle generation dance collectives “Teiksma” and “DeTeiksma” will take part in the concert – more than 300 dancers of different generations in total.

Since 2005, “Teiksma” regularly invites to large-scale solo concerts and pleases the audience both with its cheerfulness and lively emotions, as well as lyricism and technical performance of dances.
