Registration of children in 1st grades will begin

After the Easter holidays, the registration of children will begin in several periods, so that the children can start studying in the 1st grades of Ventspils schools in 2024/2025. in the school year. Parents whose child turns seven years old in 2024 can apply for the admission of their child to the 1st grade.

As in previous years, parents will be able to register most conveniently remotely in the unified electronic system administered by the Board of Education. The electronic system allows parents to confirm their identity in the application with an e-signature, with SMART-ID, as well as with the help of Internet banking authorization tools. Submission of applications does not take place in schools.

Registration is organized in three periods. In each of them, an application can be submitted according to the criteria included in the binding regulations. In the 1st stage from April 2 (at 07:00) can be applied if:

• a brother, sister or
• the child’s parent works in this school or the child’s parent works as a doctor in medical institutions that provide inpatient and outpatient emergency care in the municipality.

At the same time, the declared place of residence of this child and parent is in Ventspils for at least two calendar years.

On the other hand In the 2nd stage (from April 12 at 7:00 a.m.) those who are declared in Ventspils, as well as those who are not declared but have a brother or sister studying in the chosen school, can apply. In the 3rd stage (from April 22 at 7:00 a.m.) other interested parties apply.

Those parents who do not have the opportunity to apply electronically, will be able to complete the registration documents at the Education Board by pre-booking their visit. The system (https://1klase.ventspils.lv) for preparing applications has been open since March 25, so that everyone has the opportunity to study it and prepare an application. Once the appropriate stage begins, all that remains is to submit an application.

We remind you that in the application, parents can indicate up to three schools in order of priority. This choice, along with the other criteria and application submission time, will be taken into account by the system when creating applicant lists for each school.
