“At the beginning of the 1980s, it seemed that all hope had been lost because even the Moscow-Helsinki group was forced to cease its activities, as all its members were behind bars or in exile. But in the late 1980s and early 1990s, we saw these crowds of people and the Soviet Union collapsed,” continued Yevgenija Kara-Murza. “Therefore, it is very important to be prepared for the possibility that such a situation may recur,” she believes.

“Of course, it is important to understand with whom the dialogue should be in the future. I think that the offers made in the PA report of the Council of Europe are very important. It is a continuous dialogue with Russian civil society. It is a constant struggle for the survival of those who are now standing against the Putin regime and saying “No!” to the war.
