The cleaning of sidewalks and roadways after the winter season continues in the streets of the capital. Currently, 977 km of roadways have been cleaned, which is 69% of the cleaned area. Pavements were cleaned for a length of 1145.8 km, collecting a total of 333.8 m3 sand. House owners are also invited to collect sand in the areas adjacent to their houses and yards.

Gradual cleaning of city street sidewalks and roadways after the winter season is currently ongoing. Cleaning takes place during the day when the air temperature is higher and suitable for work.

The Department of Outdoor Space and Mobility informs that during the next week, it is planned to introduce temporary stopping and parking bans in the street sections of the suburbs of Kurzeme, where it is allowed to park vehicles along the edges of the streets. From Tuesday, April 2, installation of informational posters and road signs, and work is expected:

  • on Kleistu street, on the side of the even numbers, from Anniņmuiža boulevard to Kurzeme prospect (then on the side of the odd numbers);
  • on Zentenes Street, on the side of the even numbers, from Anniņmuiža Boulevard to Vīksnes Street (then on the side of the odd numbers);
  • On Kuldīgas Street, on the side of odd numbers, from Vīlipa Street to Gregoras Street (then on the side of even numbers).

The municipality calls on you to follow the posted road signs so that the cleaning process goes more smoothly.

We also remind you that householders throughout the city are invited not to forget about yards, driveways, paths, stairs, etc. in private areas. collection of sand scattered in winter.

In the past winter season, the city provided free of charge anti-skid spreading material (sand) to the managers of adjacent areas for the maintenance of hard surface pedestrian sidewalks, giving out a total of 2023 bags, which is 50.58 tons of sand.
