“Maxima” explains whether it will expand in Bauskas and whether any further improvements are expected – BauskasDzive.lv

SIA “Maxima Latvija” has invested more than half a million euros in the new store concept in the first quarter of 2024 to make shopping more convenient in 13 stores, including the one in Bauska. Currently, 80% of “Maxima Latvija” stores in Latvia have switched to the new concept stores, company representative Liene Dupate-Ugule informed the portal.

“The first quarter of this year “Maxima Latvija” has been particularly active, expanding the new store concept and making the shopping environment comfortable and modern for residents, as well as our employees in 10 Latvian cities. We are happy to see that the improvements made are appreciated both by customers visiting the stores on a daily basis and by employees who can perform their direct work duties more efficiently and comfortably. We will continue to actively develop the retail network in the second quarter as well. In general, we plan to complete the implementation of the new concept in almost all Maxima stores in Latvia by the end of the year,” says Evija Grīnberga, director of sales and production of SIA “Maxima Latvija”.

In Bauska, the transition to the single store concept in Bauska was already completed in February, but the company still has improvements in mind. L. Dupate-Ugule revealed that at the end of May, five self-service cash registers of the new generation will be installed in the “Maxima X” store in Bauska, Pionieru street 2, and it will be possible to pay with both cash and non-cash money. In addition, the store will also retain two traditional cash registers. “We are sure that the planned changes will improve the flow of customers in the store, making shopping more efficient and convenient,” said L. Dupate-Ugule.

The residents of Bauska were interested in whether the company has plans to open a bigger store in the city of Bauska, because now there are two “Maxima X” stores available, but no “Maxima XX” or “Maxima XXX” stores.

L. Dupate-Ugule confirms that the company is constantly examining development opportunities. The opening of new stores is planned by evaluating various factors, such as the potential flow of people, the location of the store and other factors. “Taking into account the operational priorities of the moment and the implementation of the unified concept in the Maxima stores, there are currently no plans to open a larger format store in Bauska,” declares L. Dupate-Ugule.
