Guntis Jansons will lead Jura Neiken’s Dikli elementary school

On March 28, at the meeting of the municipal council of Valmiera region, deputies approved Gunti Janson as the director of Jura Neikens Dikli elementary school.

G. Janson’s professional activity is related to sports pedagogy, coaching, mental health preparation of children and young people. Worked at the Sports Health Center in Valmiera as a trainer and mental preparation specialist. From 2020, he was a sports teacher at Jura Neikens Dikļi elementary school, and will continue to teach sports partially even after taking up the position of principal. Organized, led or participated as a lecturer in such children and youth camps as “Personality Academy”, “Whirlwind of Adventures”, “Family Friendly Municipality”, “Olympic Quantum” and others. G. Janson’s interests are active lifestyle and sports, pedagogy and psychology.

G. Jansons obtained a bachelor’s degree in sports science and professional pedagogical higher education in the qualification of a sports teacher at the Latvian Academy of Sports Pedagogy, which was later supplemented with a master’s degree in sports science in the qualification of a sport (floorball) senior coach. He has regularly updated his knowledge in various professional qualification improvement courses.

“I thank my colleagues for encouraging me to apply for the position, it is a kind of assessment! I am pleased that the school team and I share the same vision for the development of the school – we want to become a prominent school in a rural area. Let’s develop and improve, work on the implementation of ideas and continue work on building the school’s identity,” says G. Jansons.

G. Jansons has been entrusted with managing not only the Jura Neikens Dikli elementary school with 93 students, but also two of its structural units – the preschool education program implementation site in Zilākalnė and Dikli, which has 91 students (data of September 1, 2023).

G. Jansons, the director of Jura Neikens Dikļi elementary school, will start his duties on April 2.
