Singer Mārtiņš Starostnieks, who introduces himself in the Latvian music industry under the stage name Starins, has released the single “Problēmas”.

Starins is one of “Rakovska’s children” – the single “Problēmas” was written on Agnes Rakovska’s music and education platform “Zvaigznājs”, when Starins or Mārtiņš won a scholarship in the “Ondo.lv Star” contest. A bit of pop, a bit of hip-hop with an emphasis on the latter, something from “Other boys” in a solo version – that’s roughly how this young aspirant could be described.

“It was a great pleasure for me to work with Agnes Rakovska, because she was the one who was able to give an honest opinion about the original version of this song,” admits Mārtiņš. “We finished it quite quickly and fluidly, so that it already reaches the listeners.”

Agnese herself and producer Matīss Repsis mainly participated in the creation of the song. Gustavs Krastiņš helped to record the melody of the electric guitar, Jakovs Šaldovs played the drum part, and the voice of another student of “Zvaigznāja” school, Paulas Dunderes, can also be heard in the vocal parts.

“Each of us has problems that we face, but it is always worth remembering that they can also bring good. For example, situations in my life have given me the opportunity to write this song. I recommend listening to it, because it has an interesting and positive chorus, as well as funny words,” Starins promotes his single.

As for life outside of this single (and “Zvaigznāja”), it can be mentioned that Mārtiņš has participated in several competitions of percussionists – both in Latvia and in Europe. On a daily basis, he studies at the Emīlas Dārziņas music school and creates his own music.
