“Supernova was just the beginning for us at Jar of Kings!” – with such a pretentious slogan, the heavy music group “Jar Of Kings”, which reached the semi-finals of the Eurovision national selection, announced their new song. This time their song is in their mother tongue.
The new “Jar of Kings” piece “Aizlaid” is first of all notable for the fact that it is in Latvian – the band’s first single in the native language. It must be admitted that it is difficult to get used to its stylistic orientation right away, besides, vocalist Jānis DrēĖeris introduced into the band’s music such moods as “a la Atis Ieviņš & “Opus Pro””, however, after a few listens it is accepted – the guitars still sound like “Jar of Kings” manner!
The creation of the song was said to be “an interesting and creative process for all the members, because in a sense it is like a slight deviation from the usual sound of the group,” the musicians of “Jar of Kings” themselves admit. “This piece of art will allow our listeners to see a stage in life where nothing can be more important than love, as well as the ability to ask for forgiveness. True happiness is to be found in the meeting, despite all the sorrows and worries that have come.”
Currently, the musical association is working on a new album, which is planned to be finished this year. “Heavier breezes” will also be felt in the band’s sound. Good thing – we don’t need another Ati Ieviņa…
