May 7 at the Business School Wealth two BIP (Blended Intensive program) courses of the ERASMUS+ program started, which are short-term mobility within the ERASMUS+ program. Today In wealth 50 students took part in the course on security risk management and the course on media literacy in the digital age.

ERASMUS+ BIP courses are a relatively new initiative within the ERASMUS+ program, which provides opportunities to gain international learning experience for those who, due to some circumstances, cannot or do not want to go on exchange for a semester or an entire school year. As part of these courses, students from different countries intensively study a topic, study in an international environment, go on study visits, participate in group work and other practical lessons for 5 to 30 days (depending on the course content and program). Before going to the course, students also participate in virtual mobility – they attend online classes and work in groups. At the end of the course, students receive a certain amount of ECTS, which are credited to their study program at their “home” university.

This year, Turība University of Business has participated in 4 such BIP courses. Turība takes three courses in Riga and in one of the courses our students will go to Germany, Aachen.

BIP courses, in which Turība accepts students, will take place for 5 working days from May 7 to 11. In the security risk management course, 23 students from Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Germany, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Spain learn practical skills on how to identify, assess and plan the prevention of security risks in various organizations. During the second course, 27 students from Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Finland improve their media literacy and critical thinking skills.

The health department will also host students from partner universities this summer from July 1 to 5, in order to stimulate students to make positive changes in behavior that will improve their quality of life as part of the BIP course “Wonderland of Well-Being – Discover Your Way to a Vibrant Life”.
The sustainable entrepreneurship BIP course, in which the students of the Turība School of Business will participate, will take place in Germany at the Aachen University of Applied Sciences. Already on May 20, 10 students from the Faculty of Business Management and International Tourism will go to Aachen to learn how to create sustainable business models in a 5-day intensive course.

These courses are a great opportunity not only to learn a specific topic, but also to gain international experience, acquire practical skills, get to know other cultures and young people.

In addition to the BIP courses, 2 summer schools of the NORDPLUS program will be held in Turības this summer in August, to which the participating students from Turības are invited. The topics of the summer schools will be Security Risk Management and Sustainable Thinking in Business. Follow the information on the Turības website and apply for such an international experience right here in Turības!

BIP courses are financed by the ERASMUS+ program of the European Union, project no:
