Poland is ready to help Ukraine identify men of conscription age who fled abroad, Polish Defense Minister Vladislav Kosiņak-Kamiš said on Thursday.

For some time now, Warsaw has been offering Kyiv assistance in efforts to identify men subject to mobilization among Ukrainian refugees and immigrants, the minister said in an interview with “PolSat” TV channel.

Specific forms of this assistance depend on Kyiv’s wishes, he added.

“I believe that many of our fellow citizens are outraged when they see young Ukrainian men in cafes and hear about the efforts required of us to help Ukraine,” Kosinak-Kamish explained.

“It is also not surprising that those Ukrainians who are at the front have justified claims against their peers who are scattered around the world,” the minister added.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine announced this week that it will stop issuing documents abroad for citizens aged 18 to 60.

This step is related to the recently adopted law on mobilization in Ukraine.

According to EU data, there are 4.3 million Ukrainian citizens, including 860,000 men, in the countries of the European Union (EU).

Poland has officially granted temporary asylum to 950,000 Ukrainians and is second only to Germany in this respect.
