Robert Miksons, who went missing on the night of Sunday, March 24, and who, unfortunately, was found dead on the morning of Tuesday, March 26, in the Daugava water area, did not die a violent death, according to the State Police (VP).

Robert Mixon left a bar in Old Riga on the morning of Sunday, March 25 and disappeared. Family and friends, as well as the State Police, immediately began searching for the man, collecting video footage from city and property cameras to understand where Robert had gone. On Tuesday, March 26, the man was found dead in the Daugava water area. Unfortunately, without signs of life, reports the program “Degpunktā”.

The latest video footage shows that the man passed by Mūkusala Street 21. Around nine o’clock on Tuesday morning, State Fire and Rescue Service and State Police cars stopped there.

Divers searched the river and after about half an hour, Robert’s remains were found 10 meters from the shore.

“Personal identification documents were found with the man. Initial information available to the police does not indicate a criminal offence. No signs of violent death were found. In connection with the incident, criminal proceedings have been initiated according to Chapter 13 of the Criminal Law. Expertises have been appointed and the circumstances of the incident will be explained in the investigation,” explained the State Police.

The police still need to understand whether the man jumped into the river by himself, got into the water due to an accident or with someone’s help, or maybe Robert got sick.
