The first two numbers of the 2022 NHL draft have been announced as part of Slovakia’s opponent, Latvia’s national team

The 20-year-old Montreal Canadiens forward Slafkowski has appeared in all 82 games this NHL season, scoring 20 goals and 30 assists for a negative -19 efficiency rating. His peer, Nemec, had three accurate shots, 16 assists and a negative utility of -7 in 60 contests.

Defenseman Martin Feherváry of the Washington Capitals, as well as forwards Martin Pospišil of the Calgary Flames and Tomáš Tatar of the Seattle Kraken will also be part of the Slovak national team with an NHL record this season.

Last year, in the world championship, which was held in Latvia and Finland, the Slovakian team remained in ninth place, failing to qualify for the elimination matches.

This year, the world championship will take place in the Czech cities of Prague and Ostrava from May 10 to 26.

The Slovak national team will be the opponent of the Latvian national team in subgroup B in Ostrava, where the USA, Germany, Sweden, France, Kazakhstan and Poland will also play.
