“Kings” player Kempe will help the Swedish national team in the world championship

Kempe agreed to represent the team after the Kings were eliminated from the Stanley Cup after a 1-4 first-round series loss to the Edmonton Oilers.

This season, in 77 games of the NHL regular season, Kempe collected 75 (28+47) productive points, 72 penalty minutes and a +/- rate of +13, and in five Stanley Cup games – five (4+1) productive points, four penalty minutes and a +/- rate -1

Kempe has participated in four world championships so far, becoming the world champion in 2018 in Denmark.

He has accumulated 19 (6+13) performance points in 25 games in the World Championship.

Last year, at the world championship, which was held in Latvia and Finland, the Swedish national team remained in sixth place, losing 1:3 to the national team of Latvia in the quarter-finals.

This year, the world championship will take place in the Czech cities of Prague and Ostrava from May 10 to 26.

The Swedish national team will be the opponent of the Latvian national team in subgroup B in Ostrava, where the USA, Germany, Slovakia, France, Kazakhstan and Poland will also play.
