Defenders Lisandro Martinez and Victor Lindelof will not be able to help Manchester United for at least a month due to injuries, the English Premier League football club announced on Tuesday.
Sweden’s Lindelöf and Argentina’s World Cup winner Martinez were both injured in the last Premier League game against Brentford last weekend. In the 69th minute of the match, Martinez replaced Lindelöf, who suffered a hamstring injury, but he himself suffered a calf injury.
Due to various injuries, the 26-year-old Martinez has played only 11 games for United in all competitions this season, while the 29-year-old Lindelof has played in 27 matches.
“United” is in sixth place in the Premier League standings with 48 points in 29 matches. The Manchester team is 11 points behind the fourth place, which would allow them to start in the UEFA Champions League next season. With nine rounds remaining in the Premier League until the end of the season, “Liverpool” is in the lead with 67 points, which is two points ahead of London “Arsenal” and three points ahead of last season’s champion Manchester “City”.
