The electric car manufacturer Tesla is going to offer its voice assistant system in its cars, which allows the occupants of the car to make some changes with the help of their voice, for example, change the climate control settings and do many other things. This was explored by a Tesla “hacker” nicknamed “green” by analyzing the code of the latest software update for clues to such a tool.
About the fact that Tesla wants to introduce its own voice assistant and control system, the head of the company, Elon Musk, has mentioned from time to time for several years now.
There is currently no more information about how it will work and when it will actually be used in cars. True, Musk has not hidden that he wants to achieve the fact that drivers do not have to enter anything manually in Tesla cars. Doing something with your voice is one way to achieve this. Ideally, the car would sense what the driver might want, but Musk would like drivers to use voice control to make any changes.
The experience so far with such systems in other cars can be characterized as very different – there are cars in which these voice assistants and control systems work well and their use is relatively reasonable, but there are quite a lot of cars where this system is absurdly unusable and is more of a hindrance than a help. How and when Tesla will implement this, we do not officially know yet.
