Līga describes her childhood as colorful and diverse, she remembers warm summers and idyll at her grandmother’s house. At the same time, she also remembers duties and responsibilities, which may not always have been easy, but she liked to be useful and appreciated.

“I’ve always had a love for music. I remember myself as a child – I’m alone at home, Latvian music is playing on the TV, and I’m standing in front of the mirror with a hairbrush in my hand, pretending that I’m singing. That’s what I did when I was alone. It made me happy,” Liga said.

At the same time, Līga was shy about telling someone else about her dream, so she consciously turned to music only in the 11th grade, looking for a group where she could sing and make her dream come true.

“It was the beginning, but from there there were all kinds of attempts to show myself, contests and things like that, but when I started studying veterinary medicine, that dream was put aside, because it was more important for me to have stability in life, and at that moment I was sure that with music can’t earn money, so I don’t need it,” said Līga.

After graduating from university and starting to work as a veterinarian, Līga had already “let go” of her dream of music. But several years later, when she was expecting her second child, she noticed an advertisement for a musical show.

“Then I thought – and I should try, maybe, maybe… Because I’ve always had a dream about music, but somehow I didn’t have the faith in myself. I applied.

I remember that when I went to the selection, I felt so out of place – well, what am I doing here? Such a grown woman pregnant with children who want to sing and who can. But somehow I got there,” Liga said.

With the participation in the show, music entered the life of the League again. It inspired him a lot, gave him the motivation to do and overcome difficulties. The dream that reawakened in the heart of the League made him stronger and gave him a lot of energy, as well as the ability not to listen to what people around him said about it.

“At the same time, at that point, the regime that was on this show was really burning. The fact that there was no time to talk, it also burned my relationship in the marriage, because there were many, many misunderstandings, as it turns out. The fact that for me the music, the show, the industry was more important than my family and husband – that was my husband’s assumption about why I was so enthusiastic and happy, but in reality I was only happy that I can sing and that someone likes the fact that I sing,” said Līga.

The league emphasized that her husband initially supported her and tried, but at the same time did not understand her desire to realize her dream. She did not feel heard at home.

Līga expressed the emotions caused by the divorce through songs, writing lyrics and composing melodies. But God had another plan, she said, and those songs were never heard in the world.

“Well, I have different values and point of view, and they will remain in the past. The divorce changed the rhythm of my life. It changed the focus. I couldn’t whine anymore, I had to do it to survive everyday and live normally. When I was left alone with the children, it made me mobilize. It made me look for a lot of answers within myself, to look for something that can help fill the void that was in me,” said Līga.

After several years, she came to a faith that completely changed her and her life. This prompted him to look back and try to repair his broken marriage.

“My focus completely changed. I no longer live to prove to someone that I’m good enough, because I know that I’m so good that Jesus died for me so that I could live,” said League.

If before that Līga lived in fear of whether her dream would ever come true, whether she would be condemned for it, now she trusts that everything will be fine and will succeed, so she works with herself every day and does her best to get closer to it.

“I no longer live in fear, I live in trust and confidence that I will have everything that God has put in my dreams and in my heart,” said League.
