The Saeima commission has supported the amendments, which provide for the introduction of new restrictions on the time of sale of alcohol. The amendments provide that from Monday to Saturday alcohol can be sold from 10 am to 8 pm, and on Sundays – from 10 am to 6 pm. Almost half of the viewers of the TV3 program “900 seconds” support such changes, according to a sociological survey.

Almost half or 49% of the population of Latvia between the ages of 18 and 65 have indicated that they support the planned amendments to the Law on the Circulation of Alcoholic Beverages, which envisages the introduction of new restrictions on the sale of alcohol: from Monday to Saturday, sell alcohol from 10 to 20.

On Sundays – from 10 to 18 (24% – definitely support; 25% – rather support).

On the other hand, two fifths or 42% of the population have stated that they do not support planned changes in alcohol sales. 19% rather do not support restrictions, and 23% definitely do not.

Approximately one tenth or 9% of the population has no specific opinion on this issue.
