A few months ago, the automaker Tesla unveiled its next-generation humanoid robot, Optimus Gen 2, designed to perform manual, repetitive tasks. Compared to the previous version, the new one has improved speed, agility, as well as the frame itself, which allows you to perform tasks faster, more accurately and more efficiently. At the same time, the head of “Tesla” Elon Musk expresses the hope that “Optimus” robots could reach the first buyers already next year.
Tesla’s humanoid robot is primarily intended for performing tasks in factories, which is also currently being trained in the company’s laboratories. Musk hopes that by the end of the year it will be possible to use these robots to perform real tasks in Tesla factories. On the other hand, by the end of 2025, the company could start the commercial sale of “Optimus”. Its price is not yet known, but it could reach around $25,000.

Previously, the head of “Tesla” predicted that the demand for these robots could reach 10 to 20 billion units. Musk has even suggested that in the future Optimus robots will probably make up “the majority of Tesla’s long-term value” and become more valuable than Tesla’s car business. Also, he does not rule out that these robots will be great home assistants, but most of them will work in the areas of production and service provision.
